Triphala for ages is known for its various medicinal properties such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-stress. In a recent detailed chemical study of Triphala, it was found to be packed with polyphenols. Scientists tested its action on molecules that aid the development of neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson. In test-tube studies, Triphala helped to stop fibril formation of alpha-syn in the brain. However, experts feel that more clinical trials are required to prove its role in the brain at the intracellular level as it is also not clear how these polyphenols will reach the brain.
