In the last two decades despite economic growth, India’s nutrition problem has not changed. The recommended average calorie requirement, per person, per day, is set at 2400 kcal for rural India and 2100 kcal for urban India. As per the study, a large number of the urban and rural population is eating less than the required number of calories. Lesser calorie consumption, as well as inadequate nutrition, continues to be a problem.
