How to feed the world a healthy diet without destroying the planet- researchers have been trying to find answers to this question. Over the last few decades, food habits have changed globally giving rise to obesity, lifestyle diseases, and environmental degradation. A recent study calls for a global dietary shift, which would mean a diet with a 100% increase in consumption of fruits, vegetables, legumes and nuts, and a dramatic reduction of up to 50% on consumption of unhealthy foods such as red meat. Reducing sugar consumption should also be a universal goal.
