It’s time to get the ‘Zinc’ back!

Most of us may not be aware that Zinc is one of the most important minerals required by our body. Zinc strengthens the immune system of the body.Inadequate consumption of zinc puts young children at risk for malaria, pneumonia and diarrhoea related diseases. High rice consumption states in the South and North East have a more severe problem because of low amounts of Zinc in rice. Researchers also highlighted that growing carbon emissions and global warming may deplete many important nutrients including zinc from crops in the coming years.
