Indian researchers have found a correlation between nutritional deficiency and the size of holding a farmer has. As per the study, most people in rural India depend on wheat and rice and a few vegetables for calorie and nutrition intake. Milk, fruits, and meat are consumed in insufficient quantities. Deficiency of nutritional factors such as vitamins, irons, zinc, etc has been found to be more in households with low holdings. Families with members in permanent salary jobs, institutional credit, land, livestock have been found to have a higher calorie intake.
