It takes just 375 to 500 grams of fruits, vegetables and dal per day to get desired health benefits, as per a new study. Researchers say the antioxidants and fibre in these foods lower bad cholesterol and blood pressure, improve insulin response, and prevent fat deposition in blood vessels. The study did not distinguish between cooked vegetables and raw ones, but recommends to consume vegetables like tomato, cucumber, carrot, and leafy vegetables raw.
