The Sunshine vitamin – vitamin D, is essential for strong bones. Deficiency can cause bone pain, hormone imbalance and muscle weakness. The body produces vitamin D when exposed to sunlight and it is also present in certain foods – dairy, eggs, fish etc. Urban lifestyles of being mostly indoors, working nights, and vegan diets maybe some of the contributors to vitamin D deficiency. Proper diagnosis is important and must always be done in consultation with a doctor.
